Various Pictures of Our Family and Hereford Shows
Mud Creek Farms Polled Herefords began with the purchase of eight bred cows in 1991.  Over the past 17 years, the herd has grown to 45 registered cows.  We currently have two senior herd sires on the farm and are utilizing artificial insemination and embryo transplant.

Andrew and Christina began showing Polled Herefords at the Stephenson County Fair in 1992.  One of the first  heifers shown, MCF Miss Starr 8B, became one of the foundation females for the farm and a number of current cows trace back to "Starr."

Andrew is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, majoring in Agri-Business.  There he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and a member of the 2004-05 University of Illinois Livestock Judging Team.  He has since judged cattle shows across the state.  He is now a loan officer for the State Bank of Freeport, IL, and continues to stay in the cattle business with his wife Christy.  Christy is a social worker for the Belvidere School District. Christina is currently a senior at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is majoring in English.  She will graduate this December.

In addition to farming and taking care of cattle, Rick is an auctioneer and appraiser.  He conducts many types of auctions including household, antiques, business liquidations, and farmland real estate.  Linda works full-time in the Rockford school district as a speech pathologist.  We also have two house cats, a Lab and a Boston Terrier.
