In 2007, we sought a sound footed, functional bull that was attractive in his design and powerful in his makeup. Our search led us “2N” at Harfst Herefords. Thanks to Dean Harfst and his family for sharing this outstanding genetic and phenotypic package with us!
His offspring turned a lot of heads at the 2008 Illinois Hereford Tour due to the extension and style he stamped into his daughters. Due to an unfortunate injury we had to part ways with "2N", but his legacy will carry on at MCF for generations to come with a number of females that will come into production in 2010.
A limited amount of semen is available. Call for more info.
We had the opportunity to purchase Creek from Cottonwood Springs in the fall of 2008, and are expecting 20+ calves from him in the spring of 2010.
Phenotypically, "Creek" offers everything a breeder would want in a breeding bull. He is powerfully constructed individual with a wide base and head-turning shape through his quarter. From the side you appreciate his style, length of body and levelness of hip. One of his greatest attributes is his correctness of structure, which allows him to move freely and easily. This outstanding combination of traits allowed him to be named Reserve Grand Champion at Louisville in 2006.
On paper he is equally impressive with as he is a low birth weight sire that ranks in the top 5% of the breed for maternal calving ease. He also ranks in the top 20% for weaning weight, yearling weight and scrotal circumference. Take a look at his pedigree and you will certainly not be dissapointed. His sire, 122L, is one of the most influential sires of the breed and continues to sire champions across the nation. His dam is the great 8063 cow now owned by Star Lake and Cottonwood Springs that has produced piles of winners including BR DM CSF Wallace 7055 ET, Reserve Grand at the 2008 National Western. Full brothers to "Creek" sold at Star Lake's 2008 fall sale for $10,000, $20,000 and $30,000.
The first Creek calves at MCF are on the ground, and they are GOOD. Come take a look!
Airline is the new and exciting addition to our herd bull lineup. Heavy muscled, stout structured and soft-made are a few of the terms that describe this unique breeding piece. Genetically, he is bred to raise females being sired by the immortal Online. His mother is a 12-year old Airwave daughter and top donor at Able Acre's. She has a weaning weight ratio of 106% and a yearling ratio of 108%.
Airline is a maternal brother to AA Heavyload 499, who was Spring Calf Champion at Louisville and Fort Worth in 2004, a class winner at Denver, the 2005 NILE Reserve Champion Bull, and the 2005 American Royal Reserve Champion Yearling Bull.
We expect big things from Airline in 2011 and beyond.
