In 2007, we sought a sound footed, functional bull that was attractive in his design and powerful in his makeup. Our search led us “2N” at Harfst Herefords. Thanks to Dean Harfst and his family for sharing this outstanding genetic and phenotypic package with us!
His offspring turned a lot of heads at the 2008 Illinois Hereford Tour due to the extension and style he stamped into his daughters. Due to an unfortunate injury we had to part ways with "2N", but his legacy will carry on at MCF for generations to come with a number of females that will come into production in 2010.
Phenotypically, "Creek" offers everything a breeder would want in a breeding bull. He is powerfully constructed individual with a wide base and head-turning shape through his quarter. From the side you appreciate his style, length of body and levelness of hip. One of his greatest attributes is his correctness of structure, which allows him to move freely and easily. This outstanding combination of traits allowed him to be named Reserve Grand Champion at Louisville in 2006.
On paper he is equally impressive with as he is a low birth weight sire that ranks in the top 5% of the breed for maternal calving ease. He also ranks in the top 20% for weaning weight, yearling weight and scrotal circumference. Take a look at his pedigree and you will certainly not be dissapointed. His sire, 122L, is one of the most influential sires of the breed and continues to sire champions across the nation. His dam is the great 8063 cow now owned by Star Lake and Cottonwood Springs that has produced piles of winners including BR DM CSF Wallace 7055 ET, Reserve Grand at the 2008 National Western. Full brothers to "Creek" sold at Star Lake's 2008 fall sale for $10,000, $20,000 and $30,000.
Airline was added to our herd bull lineup in 2010 to add power, fleshing ease and maternal excellence. Genetically, he is bred to raise females being sired by the immortal Online. His mother is a 12-year old Airwave daughter and top donor at Able Acre's. She has a weaning weight ratio of 106% and a yearling ratio of 108%. Airline capped a very successful show career this year after being named Reserve Grand at Keystone, Champion at Illinois State Fair and Division Champion at Louisville.
Airline is a maternal brother to AA Heavyload 499, who was Spring Calf Champion at Louisville and Fort Worth in 2004, a class winner at Denver, the 2005 NILE Reserve Champion Bull, and the 2005 American Royal Reserve Champion Yearling Bull.
True Grit is arguably the best About Time son to date, with a combination of traits that the Hereford breed is looking for!
Stylish design, stout hip and bone, correct in his structural build, fluid in his movement and maternally bred. His dam is perfect uddered 417L daughter that traces back to Jensen's 520E cow on the top side and Boomerang on the bottom side.
We're equally excited about his low birthweight pedigree, giving breeders unlimited ways to utilize him. He bred all of our heifers last year and a number of cows. MCF and Pierce's Hereford Haven are flushing our donors to him this fall...he is the real deal! Call now to order your semen.
